The application system is open from July to November for candidates to apply for all positions. We run Assessment Days throughout November to January, which is a great opportunity to get a feel for Barnett Waddingham.
The application process is the same for the graduate, summer internship and actuarial analyst roles. It starts with completing the online application form, once this is reviewed a number of candidates will be selected to have a telephone interview. The telephone interview comprises of competency based questions and will last for approximately 20 minutes. A selection from the telephone interview will then be made for the assessment day which is the final stage of the process. The assessment day is comprised of different assessments including an interview, case study, numerical testing, presentation and group exercise.

Yes, you can. You will need to forward your proof of extenuating circumstances to our recruitment team – this can be by means of a doctors’ note or letter from a tutor. Once we have received this, your application will be passed through to the hiring manager for the role you have applied for.
Our summer internship usually runs throughout all offices from the first week of July through to the final week of August, a total of eight weeks.
Our Graduate scheme typically starts in the first week of September for all offices, however on some occasions you may be asked to start sooner if we have the opportunity.
The actuarial analyst roles start throughout the year, dependant on the offices requirements.
Do you provide any other work experience programmes?
Yes, we offer unpaid work experience placements in most offices throughout the year. If this is of interest contact graduaterecruitment@barnett-waddingham.co.uk to enquire about the opportunities we have available.
We currently hold an ‘A’ rated sponsor licence with the UK Visa and Immigration. This licence gives us the opportunity to provide Restricted and Unrestricted Tier 2 (General) certificates of sponsorship in line with UK Visa and Immigration requirements.
Please note that you will need to ensure that you have the right to work in the UK.
Can I reapply for a different role?
Yes you can. We welcome candidates that have applied previously and are still very interested in a career with Barnett Waddingham.
