Meeting preparation and actions could include:
- Noting the success of and feedback from any recent communication exercises and considering whether to make changes in the future as a result
- Considering how communication strategies may affect the trustees’ aims and the resources available. For example, an enhanced transfer value opportunity with a deadline may warrant a more involved communication approach than a routine compliance document
- For larger schemes, considering input from a communications consultant
- Periodically considering the scheme’s communication strategy as a whole to see whether changes could be appropriate. This is particularly important when the scheme’s business plan is changed
- Periodically producing statutory disclosure materials such as the chair’s statement for DC arrangements
