Xander is a Senior Investment Consultant who advises trustees of defined benefit (DB) pension schemes on all aspects of investment strategy.

Xander takes the time to understand his clients’ specific objectives and views so he can provide them with bespoke advice. He welcomes questions and enables clients to feel confident in their decision making.

Significant experience

  • Over 15 years of experience with DB schemes ranging in size from less than £10 million to over £1 billion.
  • Design and implementation of investment strategies for pension schemes at all stages of their journeys, including in preparation for buyout.
  • Asset liability modelling and risk analysis.
  • Monitoring of strategies and analysis of the causes of any departures from targets.

Career

Xander joined Barnett Waddingham in July 2022 from First Actuarial, where he had worked for the previous five years. Prior to this he worked at PwC where he qualified as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in 2013. Xander holds degrees from the Universities of Durham and Cambridge.

Interests

Xander captains the Worshipful Company of Actuaries’ ski team and the Peterhouse alumni boat club. He reads to his nieces, nephews and goddaughters as often as he can.
