Simon is an experienced procurement professional with deep experience in establishing and evolving procurement functions.

His goal is to develop procurement policies, processes and governance that are best suited to BW, not just for now but as the organisation continues its growth trajectory. 

Good procurement discipline helps drive value and efficiencies, reducing organisational risk from the supply chain.

Significant experience:

  • established the Procurement & Supply Chain function at the Rugby Football Union SME for Procure to Pay on an Oracle Fusion implementation;

  • evolved a mature procurement function in a £1bn food manufacturer to drive greater value and process efficiency across the whole end-to-end value chain;

  • as well as process development, Simon is passionate about developing people and holds an ILM certificate in Performance Coaching.

Career

Simon graduated from university in 1994 with a degree in International Business Information Systems.
There followed a career focused on procurement and supply chain functions, both within industry and as an external consultant, that took him all over the world.

Most recently he settled at the RFU, the home of rugby, to establish procurement within the organisation and lead the associated cultural change.

An avid gardener in any free time, which isn’t much as he enjoys spending time with the family and coaching his son’s rugby team.
