Associate and Head of Organisational Development & Talent

Nicola is responsible for the talent development offering across BW for all colleagues, regardless of location and position.

She leads a team of dedicated consultants to ensure a healthy talent pipeline by providing a range of diverse development solutions that support growth in our people's current roles as well as their aspirational roles.

Nicola is accountable for the development of dedicated Academy training to support the employee life-cycle, mirroring career progression from early careers through to leadership development.


Main area of expertise:

  • Talent Development strategy encompassing succession planning and organisational design and capability to support operational and strategic requirements
  • Design, delivery and evaluation of development solutions to support employee life cycle from early career through to Executive development
  • Accomplished in the creation of new Organisational Development & Talent (OD&T) teams across both a UK and European wide remit
  • Adept at building development solutions to support people through business change including restructuring, mergers, administration and acquisition including TUPE

Significant experience:

  • Collaborator and Team Player working in both UK wide and multinational teams
  • Worked in a variety of business models (inclusive of owner led, franchise, joint ventures and corporate) and in sectors (including retail, pharmaceutical and real estate) so developing an understanding of various business needs and how to satisfy them appropriately
  • Generalist HR knowledge – administration, restructuring, work force planning, redundancies- understanding fully the link between different HR disciplines and how they formulate together to support a comprehensive HR Strategy
  • Understanding commercial impact both short and long term strategic and operational decision making
  • Innovation and creativity – devising new solutions as a result of business change
  • Agile in thinking and adaptable to change – through work with restructuring and strategic directional change

  • ACAS Qualified Negotiator MBTI level2 and FIROB psychometric qualified
  • Brand and values culture programme delivered for all employees circa 3500
  • Designed new Competency Framework for publication across Europe and North America to align our Culture at McArthur Glen and unite our ways or working across multiple regional cultures and languages
  • Creation of new structure and development offer for business’ including McArthurGlen and intu to match strategic plans for expansion and growth
