Matthew’s main role is guiding pension schemes through the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) assessment period, along with developing BW’s people, services, and client relationships with the PPF and independent trustees.

Main area of expertise is defined benefit (DB) pension schemes and more specifically schemes in assessment for entry into the PPF.

Clients: 

  • Matthew is involved with clients / pension schemes that enter the PPF assessment period, guiding these through to the PPF or to buyout with an insurer.

Career

Matthew joined Barnett Waddingham in February 2017 as a senior PPF administrator, moving to the team leader role, senior team leader role and then to associate. He started working as a pension administrator with Mercer in January 2007, starting in ongoing administration, moving to project roles, mainly working on PPF schemes with Mercer and then Capita.

Interests

Matthew played a lot of sport when he was younger and still plays golf and cricket at his local clubs. He likes getting out walking with his dogs and often trips around the Yorkshire countryside with them. He and his wife are ‘foodies’ and always like to try new places to eat.
