David is Managing Partner for Strategy and Transformation, leading the firmwide strategic direction, coordination and delivery of Barnett Waddingham’s diverse range of commercial services to ensure we remain client and colleagues focused, and agile as a business, whilst maintaining our remarkable rate of growth. He therefore plays a key role in shaping our longer-term areas of strategic focus and engagement with the pensions, risk, insurance and investment markets to help us meet our long-term objectives as an organisation.
David brings more than 25 years of experience to the role, working in a number of strategic leadership roles within the financial services industry. His expertise and drive have helped businesses run more efficiently, reach new markets and navigate industry changes.
A driving force behind BW’s culture of innovation and robust execution, David’s decision to join was greatly influenced by our reputation for independence – always putting our people and our clients first.
He is a member of the Firm’s Management Board, Finance Committee, Remuneration Committee, People Committee and IT Committee, chairs our Strategy Committee and Change Committees, and previously chaired the Professional, Risk and Compliance Committee.
Key Responsibilities:
- working closely with our Senior Partner, Andrew Vaughan, on all aspects of running BW as a business
- helping to determine a clear strategy for the firm, ensuring that ways of working, culture and structure support that strategy and that the implementation plans are all aligned
- helping in the development of partners and associates to ensure the expectations we have to thrive as a firm are met and for the senior people to act as role models at all times
- driving transformational change throughout the business to ensure we continue to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients for years to come
