Alison is part of our experienced Public Sector Consulting Team.
She provides consultancy advice to public service pension scheme managers and employers across a wide range of areas, including governance and risk management solutions developed specifically for the LGPS (Local Government Pension Scheme).
Significant experience:
- 20+ years of advising a wide range of LGPS funds (including the largest funds in each of the four nations within the UK) on all actuarial and funding issues.
- Responsible for managing client relationships, ensuring service excellence and delivery of best value advice tailored to the client’s specific needs.
- Experience of developing market-leading governance advice following the 2015 governance changes including the introduction of local pension boards and the Pensions Regulator’s oversight of public service pension schemes.
- Advising officers, pension boards and committees on governance-related elements of pooling for LGPS funds in England and Wales.
- Helping clients navigate legislative and other changes and respond to emerging risks, such as developing cyber risk strategies and protocols for mitigating conflict of interest in local investment decisions.
