New head of capital and risk joins insurance team

Barnett Waddingham (BW) expands its general insurance consultancy with the appointment of a new Head of Capital and Risk.

Julien Masselot joins Barnett Waddingham as a Principal and will be supporting a range of general insurance companies across a variety of areas, including capital modelling, internal model validation, risk management, model use, Solvency II and process transformation projects.

Julien brings over 15 years of experience in insurance, having started his career in consultancy and then heading the Capital Management Team for over ten years for a large multinational insurer, being one of the first UK General Insurance companies to get approval from the PRA & Lloyd's for their Internal Capital Model. He managed multiple major model change applications and supported numerous cycles of validations, engaging with regulators and senior management to promote and embed the use of Internal Capital Models (ICM) for risk management and decision making.
