New associate appointment
Jon Palin has been appointed as an associate within our Longevity Consulting team.
Jon's appointment comes as the firm looks to drive the growth of its Longevity Consulting practice. In his new role, he will lead the technical development of the team’s offering to insurance companies and pension schemes.
"Jon’s appointment reflects the continued growth and strengthening of our longevity consulting team."
Jon joins us from RMS, where he was responsible for developing and consulting on the firm’s proprietary longevity and excess mortality models for pensions, insurance and capital markets clients. Prior to this, Jon was an Associate at Aon Hewitt, where he was head of the UK pension consulting practice’s technical research and development team. Additionally, Jon has been a volunteer member of the Continuous Mortality Investigation’s (CMI) self-administered pension scheme and mortality projection committees, and currently chairs the CMI’s graduation and modelling working party.
Dave Grimshaw, head of Longevity Consulting, said: "Jon’s appointment reflects the continued growth and strengthening of our Longevity Consulting team here at Barnett Waddingham. Jon’s considerable experience and expertise in modelling mortality and longevity risk made him the natural fit for the role, and he is a valuable addition as we look to develop our longevity consulting services in 2014.”
