As we continually look to the future, our next step forward will be taking place next month, when our Liverpool office moves into one of the city's iconic waterfront locations, the Royal Liver Building.
Taking place on Monday 19 December, the move will see our colleagues in Liverpool move into a new office that supports the continued evolution of the organisation and its people through the development of hybrid working spaces across the UK.
The new 8,715 sq ft open plan office will provide our BW colleagues more freedom to collaborate, in an environment designed to help empower everyone to do their best work, with a mix of meeting rooms, individual pods and working space, socialising space and a wellbeing room.
Our Liverpool office houses a diverse range of business areas within BW, including pension administration, actuarial consulting, employer consulting, investment consulting and a large contingent of our Small Self-Administered Schemes (SSAS) team.
As a coincidence, the move will also mean that BW has at some point occupied all of Liverpool’s Three Graces buildings, taking up residence in the Cunard Building when the office was created in 2002, before moving to our current home in the Port of Liverpool building.
Andrew Vaughan, Senior Partner at BW, said, “The world famous Three Graces has been our home for more than two decades and finding the right location for us to continue investing in our people, our technology and our culture has been a priority for us."
"The building has impressive, modern hybrid working spaces which will inevitably supplement our people's freedom to collaborate in an environment designed to empower creativity and teamwork. This is a significant investment which reflects our ongoing commitment to our clients, our people, the Liverpool business community and the future success of our business."
In 2021, we announced our net zero pledge as we achieved net carbon neutral for scope 1 and 2 emissions, having made a significant reduction in our footprint. Situated in the Liverpool Waterfront area, our new office is a short walk away from four central Liverpool train stations, encouraging reductions in car travel. With excellent provisions of heating, cooling and lighting, in combination with BW’s ethical and environmentally considered design, the space delivers a hybrid working environment in line with the organisation’s pledge to be net zero by 2025.
Speaking on the move, office leader Paula Hendry said, "This office move will see BW’s legacy in Liverpool continue as we head from the Port of Liverpool to the Royal Liver Building. Not only does the new location offer employees a fantastic working environment it also boasts accessibility, sustainability and opportunities for social activity."
"BW has been named as one of the top 40 companies to work for in the North West by Best Companies in 2022 and I for one am looking forward to working in this fantastic office which improves the workspace for our people."
One of the nine offices across the UK, this is the latest property development from BW following the opening of our new Guildford office in December 2021 and Birmingham office move in September 2020.
