Barnett Waddingham is committed to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of all our people. We deliver a programme of activities to ensure everyone can have open and honest conversations about their wellbeing in the workplace and feel supported.

Holistic framework

By focussing on wellbeing and putting a holistic framework in place to support people’s physical and mental health, we strive to achieve:

  • A healthier and more inclusive culture
  • Better work-life balance
  • Better employee morale and engagement

Our commitment

Promoting and supporting employee wellbeing is at the heart of our purpose to champion better work and working lives because an effective workplace wellbeing programme can deliver mutual benefit to people, organisations, economies and communities.

As part of this strategy we have taken the Mental Health at Work Commitment. We encourage applications from people with experience of poor mental health and are committed to supporting our people to fulfil their potential and perform at their best while at work.

Menopause Workplace Pledge

Women make up nearly half of the UK workforce, but many feel forced to reduce their hours at work, pass up promotions and even quit their jobs due to lack of menopause support (reference Wellbeing of Women website ). We have signed up to the Menopause Workplace Pledge, championed by Wellbeing of Women, and have committed to:

  • Recognising the menopause can be an issue in the workplace and that women need support
  • Talking openly, positively and respectfully about the menopause
  • Actively supporting and informing employees affected by the menopause

We have also launched our own Menopause Guidelines, which aim to help everyone feel informed about the menopause and to enable those going through the menopause to easily access help in coping with its effects. Our Gender Equality Network members have worked with our HR team to create and finalise these guidelines.
