We are proud to be a leading independent UK professional services consultancy at the forefront of risk, pensions, investment and insurance.

With a team of more than 1,780 people in nine offices, including 99 partners, we work to deliver on our promise, and we ensure the highest levels of trust, integrity and quality through our purpose and behaviours.

We act as a trusted partner for a wide range of clients in both the private and public sectors – this includes 22% of FTSE 100 and 15% of FTSE 350 companies.

We are free from any external stakeholders, allowing us to take a long-term view with all our clients and giving us the freedom to bring fresh ideas to the table, unobstructed.

Our purpose

We empower people to secure better futures.

To achieve this, we foster strong relationships by communicating transparently, supporting growth, and championing diverse perspectives with respect and kindness. Our resolve for finding solutions sees us continually exploring new ideas, addressing challenges directly, and leveraging our collective expertise to drive excellence. We deliver proven impactful results by honouring commitments, striving for excellence, and embracing smart risks that propel us and our clients forward.

Our people

Our people are key to the success of our business and we are exceptionally proud of their loyalty and commitment to delivering a quality, efficient client service. People who join BW tend to stay, thriving in a professional learning environment and caring, friendly culture, underpinned by WorkSmart, our flexible working approach.

Our employees have a depth of consulting expertise and a breadth of administrative skills, supported by the latest technology that allows us to tackle a wide range of work – from advising small clients to dealing with large pension schemes and employers.

What our clients say

As an independent business, we are free to provide fresh ideas over a ‘one-size-fits-all’ mentality. Our latest scores from the Investor in Customers (IIC) show just how much our free thinking approach is delighting our clients.

We are therefore committed to do what we can by listening to you and understanding your needs. Whilst client teams are available to receive feedback at any time, clients are also invited to give feedback in a way which reflects their relationship with BW.

Leadership and governance

Our senior leadership team supports our people and our clients through strong communication and engagement, as well as by inspiring our teams to challenge the norm and find new solutions.

Whilst we expect challenges ahead, our leadership team has proved resilient amid the pandemic by playing to BW's strengths. This has allowed us to continue to serve and partner with our clients, while getting things done at pace, with enthusiasm and drive.

Sustainability

Narrow views of sustainability will leave us with very few options. Our independence means we’re free to think beyond standard ESG labels and start conversations with our clients that consider the full universe of sustainable action.

Leading by example, be it through our net zero pledge, carbon offsetting activities or our partnership with multiple industry-focused climate initiatives, we keep sustainability at the heart of our business.

More about sustainability at BW

Doing the right thing

As a firm, we recognise that we have an impact that goes beyond our core business activities and, as a result, we have a dedicated team that drives corporate social investment (CSI) initiatives throughout BW.

To deliver this activity in a meaningful way, we have four key areas of focus: the environment, sustainable development, ethical procurement, and charities and volunteering.

Diversity, equity and inclusion

We develop teams who give – and welcome – different opinions, views and cultural perspectives; bringing a real richness in our day-to-day activities.

We believe a diversity of thought achieves better business results, for ourselves and for our clients.

Building on our culture of doing the right thing, we want everyone at BW to feel able to bring their whole self to work from day one. We are a place where we all celebrate the beauty in all our differences and we can access a wider talent pool, without any boundaries or bias.

An award-winning team

Our success is built on rigorous commitment to client service, unique expertise and a culture of innovation.

Operating in highly competitive markets, our long list of achievements would mean little if they did not stand up to independent scrutiny. Our efforts are recognised by some of the most influential organisations in the industry.
